Hello Camp Chewonki Families!

We are thrilled to introduce you to the Summer 2022 Camp Leadership Team! Some of these folks will be familiar faces to our returners and we’re excited to be welcoming two new members to the leadership team.

At Girls Camp (also known as Eastside), Bree George has moved from an interim position with Camp Chewonki to Associate Director of Girls Camp. As Associate Director, Bree works full time for Camp Chewonki overseeing hiring and supporting program development for Girls Camp. You can read more about Bree here. Joining Bree for Summer 2022 as Assistant Director is Marisa Flores. Marisa joins Chewonki with 14 years of camping experience! You can read more about Marisa here.

At Boys Camp (also known as Westside), Griffin Davey joins us as the new Associate Director. Griffin is also joining as a year round member of the team overseeing hiring and supporting program development for Boys Camp. He has spent over a decade working in camping and outdoor education. You can read more about Griffin here. Returning for the summer as Assistant Director is Tom Foley. This will be Tom’s sixth summer at Camp Chewonki! You can learn more about Tom here.

Together with myself and Nancy Kennedy, this team will be your primary points of contact regarding your camper(s) this summer. Andrea Temple will continue to be the main contact for any and all logistics including travel, forms, and more! We are looking forward to making this summer an incredible experience for your camper and you!

We will be providing more information in an upcoming newsletter about what communication from this team will look like in the summer.

Packing Lists

Packing lists for the 2022 season are updated.  Please label items so we can make sure they find their way home.

Labelling Clothes for Camp

Labelling your campers clothes is the best way to help ensure they come home with all of their items. Some good options are: Laundry or Fabric Markers, Permanent Sharpie Marker, Laundry Stamps, Iron-On Labels, Stick-On Fabric Labels, and Sew-In Labels.

From the Health and Wellness Center

Just a reminder that Chewonki requires A COVID-19 vaccine for all participants and staff. Additionally, we will need to have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival on campus for your camper.

If you have not already done so, please upload a copy of your camper’s COVID vaccine card to CampInTouch. Right away. Campers will not be able to come to camp without the PCR test and a vaccine. There is a medical exemption form on your campintouch profile if your doctor does not want your camper to have the vaccine they should fill out and sign the exemption.

Please reach out to with any questions.
