Dear Chewonki Families,

Located on our newly established Eastside Campus on the coastal peninsula of Chewonki Neck, Camp Chewonki for Girls offers campers a place to laugh, learn, and explore. We teach children to connect with the natural world, make deep connections to a new community of friends, and develop skills and strength within themselves.
Our campers immerse themselves in fun and educational activities focused on community building, outdoor living skills, natural history, farm and food systems, and watercraft. Additional activity offerings include visual arts, performing arts, woodworking, and archery with opportunities for swimming, sports, and recreation during free time. Essential to the experience is a remote trip to a beautiful corner of Maine where they will develop transferable skills in camping and leadership to prepare them for more advanced leadership expeditions and life beyond their Chewonki summer.
We offer a 3-week Full Session camp program for campers aged 10-15 and a 10-day, introduction to overnight camp called the Puffin Program for campers aged 8-10. Come experience the magic of camp and discover what’s inside of you!

Chewonki began offering programming for girls in 2000, at Wood Cove Pond, in Attean Township, Maine. Since then, Camp Chewonki for Girls has included overnight camp programs and remote trips and expeditions. Fourth Debsconeag Lake served as the home for Girls Camp for many years, and provided a breathtakingly beautiful remote location for girls to play and learn. With the growth of the camp, it has found it’s new home on Chewonki Neck, along the eastern shore of the peninsula. This campus provides new opportunities for campers to access amazing Chewonki resources, such as the farm and challenge course.
