Maine Northwoods Canoeing Trip

For Grades 8-10

No-cost grant funded option for qualified Maine Families! Learn more…

Beautiful lakes, free flowing whitewater and bountiful wildlife make for an incredible 2-week experience on waterways that have been used for millennia by the Indigenous Wabanaki and are now protected as  the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Our Northwoods Canoe Expedition builds a foundation of skills for canoeing in the backcountry. Paddling in tandem canoes, participants will learn paddling technique, basics of reading moving water, strategies for crossing windy lakes, and will end their trip effortlessly maneuvering their boat. In addition to the paddling experience, the group will become proficient in outdoor living skills such as cooking over a fire, knots, wood processing and more!

Let's go explore the northern rivers of Maine!

Maine Families!
